Joyful Widows

Widows from Christian Revival Church in Kalobeyei Refugee Settlement pose with Pastor Agavito after receiving distribution.

“And I made the widow’s heart sing for joy.” Job 29:13b

Like Job and the Prophets of teh Old Testament a key component of our ministry is to reach the poor and vulnerable. Everywhere we serve we encounter many widows in a wide range of ages. They have no one to protect them or help them and often are raising children too. Our Goal is to make their hearts sing for joy. Scroll through and read some stories from Africa to Pakistan.

In Pakistan, we serve around a dozen widows each month with food baskets that include staples like rice, pasta, flour, tea, sugar, soap, and sometimes a treat.

Some of them attend the meetings weekly with their children.

Desperate For Food and The Word

Besides the food and other assistance we provide, they come for the Word of God. In a Muslim-majority nation, these ladies have been persecuted and suffered all of their lives. They are hungry for the Word, and some bring their children for the teachings and prayer. We also provide school fees and other assistance for the children of these ladies.

Life In A Refugee Camp

Just like any other place in the world, the Refugee camp at Kakuma and the settlement Kalobeyei contain many widows who often have no family to help them. Not only do they have little food, but they also lack basic necessities such as clean water, stable housing, or firewood for cooking.

Many suffer from chronic illnesses such as diabetes, heart disease, or other ailments. They can’t afford to go to the doctor or buy medicine, so they suffer. They need our help.

At Africa Inland Church and Christian Revival Church, we have regular meetings where we teach the Word, pray with them, and offer any assistance we can.

Help Provide Bibles

Help Provide Bibles 〰️

Help provide the Word of God to those who lack access. Many of the Turkana are illiterate and cannot read the Bible. We have partnered with Renew Outreach to provide the digital gospel to the Turkana people.

Each ‘torch’ is a solar-powered flashlight with the Bible downloaded in the indigenous language. The torches allow for people to gather around one torch and hear the Word of God proclaimed. In this way, up to 100 persons could her the Bible in Turkana.
